Academic Policies

Always check the UA website for the latest policies.

Advanced standing is required for engineering students to enroll in 300 and 400-level courses.  To receive advanced standing you need to complete the freshman and sophomore level courses in the Mining Engineering curriculum with a 2.0 cumulative GPA or better.

You must complete 30 units at the University of Arizona and your last 18 units must be at the UA. You need 128 units of the prescribed curriculum to graduate.

You can transfer 64 units from other institutions to apply to your Mining Engineering degree.

WUE students must re-file their application each semester with an updated schedule and GPA.  You must maintain a 2.25 GPA each semester.

Fulltime enrollment is 12 units.

You must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 at all times.  If your GPA is lower than 2.0 you will be on academic probation for 1-2 semesters.  Failure to raise your GPA in a timely manner will result in disqualification from the College of Engineering and possibly from the University.

You can only retake a class twice.  Failure to pass the class on the second try may disqualify you from your major that requires that class.

Be familiar with academic integrity policies.
